Channeling the gentle rhythm of the waters of Lake Suwa
Lake Suwa sits to the southeast of the Shinshu Watch Studio, where Grand Seiko crafts all Spring Drive watches. The new Grand Seiko Evolution 9 SLGA019 is inspired by this serene body of water, featuring a iridescent blue dial that recalls gently lapping waves along the water's surface just before dawn.
Representative of the Evolution 9 Style, the 40mm case has a lower profile and center of gravity, ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. Cast from high-intensity titanium, this metal is 30 percent lighter than steel and highly resistant to rust, corrosion and scratches, making it supremely comfortable on the wrist. Its faceted mid-case features a blend of Grand Seiko's Zaratsu polishing and hairline finishing, giving the whole watch a dynamic look and feel. This level of finishing is accomplished by hand as it demands a high degree of skill.
Powering the SLGA019 is the Caliber 9RA2 Spring Drive movement, assembled by the skilled artisans of the Shinshu Watch Studio and capable of approximately 120 hours (5 days) of operation when fully wound. Just as the dial reflects the changing character of a wind-swept lake, the smooth seconds hand moves with the effortless flow of time thanks to this state-of-the-art movement.
